Our Treatment Outcomes

We are dedicated to providing evidence-based care. This means that we pay attention to the research literature, regularly attend continuing education trainings, and systematically monitor our patients’ treatment progress. Research shows that regular feedback to clinicians about how their patients are doing leads to better therapy outcomes.

To monitor progress, we use a number of different measures, and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale 21 (also called the DASS 21) is the one we use most frequently.

Change in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress reported by 116 patients who have completed therapy with Dr. Eidelman or Dr. Hong.

The graph shows patient data for each of the DASS subscales. We only included patients who showed an elevated score at the start of treatment.

Depression. The average patient struggling with depression came in with a score of 20.64 (standard deviation = 9.35) and ended treatment with a score of 6.69 (standard deviation = 6.89). Meaning, on average, these patients started with a "severe" depression score and ended in the "normal" range.

Anxiety. The average patient struggling with anxiety came in with a score of 14.41 (standard deviation = 7.60) and ended with a score of 4.11 (standard deviation = 5.09). Meaning, on average, these patients started with a "moderate" anxiety score and ended in the "normal" range.

Stress. The average patient struggling with stress came in with a score of 23.63 (standard deviation = 7.16) and ended with a score of 9.60 (standard deviation = 6.99). Meaning, on average, these patients started with a "moderate" stress score and ended in the "normal" range.

Overall, 72.81% of these patients ended treatment with their symptom scores in the normal range, and 74.45% saw a clinically significant reduction in their depression, anxiety, and/or stress symptoms.

We are proud of our treatment outcomes and pleased to share them with you. However, please note that the data presented are general and not specific to individual circumstances. Individual results may vary.
